Welcome to my studio in an idyllic village on the edge of the beautiful Welland Valley
Shaped by a background in design, my work combines graphic clarity with an elegant economy of shape. Each piece is based on observation drawing, with everyday life distilled into striking, memorable images and harmonious use of colour.
My artistic journey began at just ten years old, when I fell in love with Vermeer’s paintings. I have been painting in oils since the age of eleven, drawing deep inspiration from art history. While my influences vary widely, Matisse holds a special place in my heart for his bold use of colour. The modernism of Mary Fedden is also a strong influence on my work.
